David W. Hogg is an astronomer and professor of physics at New York University. His work is in the areas of observational cosmology and astrophysics with large astronomical data sets. He is one of the founders of the Astrometry.net project.
Dustin Lang is a computer scientist, astronomer, and postdoc fellow at Carnegie Mellon University. He works on computer vision, machine learning, and inference with enormous data sets. He is also the principal developer of the Astrometry.net system. He grew up on a farm so he knows tractors.
